They had been sleeping together every day while at home, and Shuai Chang was already accustomed to having someone beside him when he slept. He didn’t think much about it and agreed readily.
Fan Luojia took him to the bedroom for a tour, saying, “It’s a two-meter big bed! You can roll around without worry!”
Fan Luojia removed his slippers and jumped onto the bed. “So soft and so comfortable, it’s exhilarating!”
After jumping, his eyes sparkled as he looked at Shuai Chang. “Brother Haidong, what do you think?”
Shuai Chang nodded, “Not bad.” At least with his height of 1.8 meters, he wouldn’t feel cramped lying on the bed.
“Then do you want to play games with me on the bed?” Fan Luojia’s face flushed slightly, his gaze lingering on Yin Haidong’s waist.
Shuai Chang felt a bit uncomfortable.
Spirit Group: Hahaha, straight man, hahaha…
Shuai Chang: Shut up!
Spirit Group: He wants to play games with you on the bed~
Shuai Chang lay down on the other side of the bed and patted the spot beside him. Fan Luojia obediently lay down, snuggling against him.
“Brother Haidong~” Fan Luojia’s tone rose.
Shuai Chang’s throat felt dry, and he couldn’t help but swallow, “Good boy, Brother Haidong will tell you a bedtime story.”
“Is it a story about a mermaid?” Fan Luojia lifted his leg, revealing a delicate calf peeking out from under his loose pajamas.
Shuai Chang’s heart skipped a beat. He raised his head to meet Fan Luojia’s eyes, too afraid to look lower. “Luojia, do you want to hear a mermaid story?”
“Mm.” Fan Luojia rested his head on Yin Haidong’s solid shoulder.
“In the underwater kingdom, there are seven mermaid princesses, and the youngest, the seventh princess, is the most beautiful…” Shuai Chang’s voice was magnetic, slow and soothing.
Fan Luojia, initially full of energy, found himself dozing off soon after.
“Luojia.” Shuai Chang called him softly.
Fan Luojia was sound asleep and, upon hearing the annoying voice, rolled over with his ears covered and continued to sleep.
Shuai Chang chuckled.
He quietly got out of bed, turned off the remaining lights, and left one bedside lamp on.
He took the room key the waiter had brought and left room 1108, returning to his own room. After changing his clothes, Shuai Chang took his luggage and left the hotel.
The driver and Yu Lili were waiting at the door, and the driver came down to put the luggage in the trunk.
At one o’clock in the morning, Shuai Chang left the film studio.
The next morning, Shuai Chang called a meeting with the shareholders. Yin’s Film Industry planned to add a new business—the Yin’s Happiness Foundation.
Shuai Chang proposed donating one-tenth of the company’s profits each year to the Yin’s Happiness Foundation, which would be used to help orphans and disabled children in welfare institutions.
Since arriving here, Shuai Chang had been planning to do what he could to give back to society.
Having lived over twenty years as an orphan before being chosen by fate, he understood the inferiority complex of orphans, their longing for love, and how hard their lives could be.
Now that he had the ability and means to help those children, why not do it?
Yu Lili informed the media about the establishment of the Yin’s Happiness Foundation and called for a press conference.
After the shareholder meeting ended, the media rushed to ask questions.
Ling Yuting spoke on behalf of the company.
The next day, the news was filled with reports about the Yin’s Happiness Foundation, praising the generosity of Yin’s large enterprise and driving up the company’s stock price.
Despite sacrificing some profit, they experienced no loss; in fact, they profited handsomely as the stock price surged. Those who had objections quieted down—who would complain about making more money?
After a month and a half of filming “A Song in Long Tunes,” Shuai Chang took the time to visit the set.
It was hot, with the blazing sun overhead.
Actors dressed in heavy robes shot scenes in the stifling indoors.
Five minutes into the shoot, their sweat would ruin the makeup, and the makeup artists stood by, ready at a moment’s notice.
The moment Shuai Chang entered, the director shouted “Cut,” and the extras scattered.
Fan Luojia was just walking out when Shuai Chang stopped him. Their eyes met.
With wet eyelashes and misty black eyes, Fan Luojia stared blankly at Shuai Chang, sending a jolt through his heart.
“Come with me.”
Shuai Chang grabbed Fan Luojia’s hand and walked him to the RV. “The air conditioning is on; get in and change your clothes.”
Shuai Chang waited outside while two assistants went in to help him change.
Beside the RV was a large tree, its canopy providing a patch of shade. Summer cicadas sheltered within, chirping mournfully, driving listeners to distraction.
After Fan Luojia changed clothes, he opened the door to let Shuai Chang in. Once inside, Shuai Chang noticed his damp hair and took a towel to help dry it.
He was a bit rough, which made Fan Luojia wince in pain, “Brother Haidong, that hurts—”
Before Shuai Chang could respond, two assistants hurriedly asked to go buy water, leaving just the two of them in the RV.
The air conditioning blew cool air, but Fan Luojia could feel Shuai Chang’s intense gaze on him, making him shiver. “Brother Haidong, why are you looking at me like that?”
Shuai Chang put down the towel and arranged Fan Luojia’s hair, “If I had known being an actor was this hard, I definitely wouldn’t…”
Fan Luojia quickly interrupted, “No, you would definitely support me because this is my dream.”
“Brother Haidong, you think I’m struggling because it’s hot while shooting, but in my mind, you managing a company, handling documents, meetings, and socializing is much harder than what I go through.”
“That’s not the same. Luojia, I hope you can live carefree, without worrying about making a living or being forced to bow for a few grains of rice. It pains me to see you like this.”
Before getting involved in the acting industry, Shuai Chang never thought being an actor was hard. He was busy this month, only finding time to come once, and he saw Fan Luojia wrapped in a robe in a sauna-like room, his clothes soaked with sweat.
How could someone he cherished so dearly suffer in ways he couldn’t see?
Fan Luojia grew anxious, fearing Shuai Chang would suddenly stop him from acting. He grabbed his hand, “Brother Haidong, you can’t stop me from acting!”
